Incident Description

On August 13th, 2024, a configuration change was made to our Cloud Resolvers, which inadvertently caused a gap in the dashboards showing DNS traffic. The issue was caused by a deploying an incorrect version of a logging component which dropped the logs.

Impact

The incident affected only customers using cloud resolvers. Only the visibility of the logs was impacted. The core DNS resolution service as well as the filtering capability remained intact.
Customers’ local resolvers were not impacted.

Resolution

The issue was resolved by rolling back the logging component to a proper version. Logs in the DNS traffic dashboards are populated again.
